June event marks the first professional tennis tournament at the Sea Colony Tennis Center. Located just south of Bethany Beach, Delaware and just north of Ocean City, Maryland, Sea Colony Tennis is ranked among Tennis Magazine’s 50 Best Tennis Resorts in the U.S. and No. 13 in the world by Tennis Resorts Online.

Bethany Beach, DE, June 3, 2011– The field is set for the inaugural ResortQuest Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony, from June 11-19, 2011, on the clay courts at the Sea Colony Tennis Center, located just south of Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Sponsored by ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals, which specializes in Sea Colony vacation rentals and Sea Colony homes for sale, and the United States Tennis Association, the singles and doubles women’s tennis tournament will draw up-and-coming players seeking to improve their world rankings and claim their share of $10,000 in prize money.

More than 100 women from 18 different nations on six continents will compete in the tournament’s qualifying matches, main draw and doubles competition, making it a truly worldwide event.

The top ranked player registered for the tournament is Beatrice Capra from Ellicott City, Maryland. The 19-year-old is currently the 242nd ranked singles player in the world and is currently ranked 429th in doubles. Capra has already made a mark on the pro circuit by winning two rounds at last summer’s U.S. Open.

Qualifying matches will be held June 11-13, with the main draw beginning on Tuesday, June 14. Doubles play also starts on June 14. Admission to the tournament is free.

In addition to the tournament itself, the tennis festivities include a pro-am on Monday, starting at 4:30 p.m., and kids carnival on Wednesday, also starting at 4:30 p.m. Admission to the kids carnival is free, however there is a $100 entry fee for the pro-am, which includes dinner immediately following the event, and space is limited.
