The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the 16th Annual Leo Brady’s Exercise Like the Eskimos has been scheduled for noon, Sunday, Jan. 1, on the beach at Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach.

Last year, more than 400 splashers kicked off the new year by braving the snow-kissed beach and Atlantic Ocean in Bethany Beach. Splashers may brave the chilly water solo or form a team to take the plunge. There are three team categories: noncommercial, commercial and student. The largest teams in each category will be awarded the coveted Iceberg Trophy.

Registration information and forms are online at TheQuietResorts.com and at the Information Center in Fenwick Island. All preregistered splashers are guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt.

PNC Bank ss the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. Supporting sponsors include CRH Tented Event and the Coastal Point.

The chamber also announced the inaugural Hair of the Dog 5K/10K Run organized by the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation to begin at 9:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day.  For more information or to register for the Hair of the Dog, go to www.qrcf.org.
