The field is set for the second annual ResortQuest Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony, from June 10-17, 2012, on the clay courts at the Sea Colony Tennis Center, located just south of Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Sponsored by ResortQuest and the United States Tennis Association, and hosted by Sea Colony, the singles and doubles women’s tennis tournament will draw up-and-coming players seeking to improve their world rankings and claim their share of $10,000 in prize money.
More than 60 women from 16 different nations on five continents will compete in the tournament’s qualifying matches, main draw and doubles competition, making it a truly worldwide event.
The top ranked player registered for the tournament is Alexis King, from Windsor, Conn. The 29-year-old former Universityof Floridastandout is currently the 503rd ranked singles player in the world.
Qualifying matches will be held June 10-11, with the main draw beginning on Tuesday, June 12. Doubles play also starts on June 12. Admission to the tournament is free.
In addition to the tournament itself, the tennis festivities include a player party on Monday at 6:30 p.m., a pro-am on Tuesday at 5 p.m., and a junior play day Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
