is for Oysters! One of the shore’s most popular dishes, you can order a plate of these delicious seafood selections in its various species including, Chesapeake Bay oysters, Blue Points, Malpeque, Sunberry Point, and Tatamagouche.
So where can you go locally to get oysters? In Bethany Beach, you can check out the Bethany Oyster House or Bluecoast Seafood Grill. In Ocean View, visit the raw bar at Magnolias Seafood, or the platter from Ocean View Family Restuarant. In Fenwick Island, you can make your way to Nantuckets, The Original House of Welsh or Harpoon Hanna’s to enjoy great oyster dinners!
Oysters are known to be one of the healthiest seafood selections. It’s an excellent source of zinc, iron, calcium, selenium as well as Vitamin A and Vitamin B12. It’s also known to have low sodium levels.
Besides being served raw, smoked, boiled, baked, fried and roasted, oysters are frequently served as parts of various stews, soups and dips and drinks on the side.
