Please join us for the 1st annual Run/Walk in beautiful downtown Bethany Beach, for our 5k Run/Walk.  This will be a great event to support a great cause that so many families have been affected by.  We are looking to raise $15,000 and what a better way to accomplish than creating your own team. Once your team has been created, feel free to promote and add team members to help you and us to reach our goal. Online donations can made through the end of the year and don’t forget to check with your with your employer and see if they will match your donation.

The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the 16th Annual Leo Brady’s Exercise Like the Eskimos has been scheduled for noon, Sunday, Jan. 1, on the beach at Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach.

Last year, more than 400 splashers kicked off the new year by braving the snow-kissed beach and Atlantic Ocean in Bethany Beach. Splashers may brave the chilly water solo or form a team to take the plunge. There are three team categories: noncommercial, commercial and student. The largest teams in each category will be awarded the coveted Iceberg Trophy.

Registration information and forms are online at TheQuietResorts.com and at the Information Center in Fenwick Island. All preregistered splashers are guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt.

PNC Bank ss the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. Supporting sponsors include CRH Tented Event and the Coastal Point.

The chamber also announced the inaugural Hair of the Dog 5K/10K Run organized by the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation to begin at 9:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day.  For more information or to register for the Hair of the Dog, go to www.qrcf.org.
