The eight-day tournament, held on the Har-Tru clay courts at the Sea Colony Tennis Center from June 15-22, featured dozens of professional tennis players – representing five countries – from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Pro Circuit tour competing for world ranking points and a share of the $10,000 in prize money.

Stewart, who beat the tournament’s No. 4 and No. 6 seeds on her way to the final, didn’t drop a game in the first set of the championship match. Kuhlman, who toppled the No. 1 seed in the opening round, fought back, striking early and taking the first game in the second set. The first few games of the second set were evenly split, then Stewart pulled away, winning 6-3.

Yesterday afternoon, the top-seeded team of Lena Litvak and Alexandra Mueller beat the unseeded team of Rima Asatrian and Stewart to claim the doubles championship.
